Phil Murphy announced the state mandate for masks in schools will end March 7, Newark, New Jersey’s largest school district, will probably wait until after spring break before it decides whether to relax school mask requirements. The state Association of School Administrators estimates 90% of districts will drop the mandate as cases of COVID-19 decline and vaccination rates rise.
