Many New Jersey towns allowed restaurants hard hit by indoor dining restrictions during the pandemic to build outdoor "corrals" or "street-eries," where customers could safely sit and enjoy a meal. But with caseloads down and COVID-19 restrictions lifted, retailers in towns like Ridgewood want those parking spaces back, to encourage downtown shopping.
