Biden to nominate Newark hospital CEO Shereef Enahal to VA

Elnahal, president and CEO of University Hospital, Newark, also was NJ health commissioner

President Joe Biden announced his intent to nominate Dr. Shereef Elnahal as undersecretary for health in the Department of Veterans Affairs. Elnahal is president and CEO of University Hospital in Newark. He previously served as NJ’s state health commissioner. It would mean a return to the VA for Elnahal, who oversaw quality of care at the veterans affairs department until 2018.
