THE MOON WILL RISE AROUND JUST BEFORE SIX# PM, HIT THE DARKNESS AROUND SEVEN AND NOTE HOW BRIGHT AND LARGE THE MOON LOOKS - IT’LL BE# ESPECIALLY PRONOUNCED, WHEN NEAR THE HORIZON.
EVEN THOUGH THE MOON IS SUPER BRIGHT YOU# CAN STILL FIND OTHER STARS AND PLANETS IN THE SKY.
LOOK UP FOR CASSIOPEIA, DOWN# TO THE LEFT FOR CAPELLA IN AURIGA AND UP TO YOUR RIGHT FOR SATURN - AND FURTHER# RIGHT IS FOMALHAUT IN PISCES AUSTRINUS!
SUPERMOONS HAPPEN BECAUSE THE MOON’S ORBIT# ISN’T A PERFECT CIRCLE.
IT VARIES BY 25,000 MILES OR SO - ABOUT 9 PERCENT.
WHEN# IT’S A BIT CLOSER PAIRED WITH A FULL MOON WE SEE THE SPECTACULAR RESULTS# AS A ‘SUPERMOON’!
