How do you think about Down syndrome?
- That's how I'm made.
- It's the way I am.
(soft music continues) - Does somebody else are Down syndrome, too?
- No, I don't think so.
- Me, Down syndrome.
(soft music continues) Well, Down syndrome is being kind, loved, friendship, loyal.
And we're born this way.
It's just who we are.
(soft music continues) On Tuesday, I go to C.A.R.E.
At C.A.R.E, I see my awesome friends.
(friends singing) (soft music continues) - [Abbey] Just an admirer, but from afar.
- No, I don't.
- But look at this face.
- [Cassidy] Yeah, you do.
- Stop it!
- Who wouldn't be in love with that?
- Nobody, except for my family and friends.
- Yeah.
- [Film maker] Okay.
- That, too.
- Not boyfriend.
- [Cassidy] I know.
She has a crush on my brother, Hunter.
- Seriously?
(Cassidy laughing) No, no, no, no, no.
- She does.
- No.
- Cassidy wants her to have a crush on him because she wants her to be part of her family.
So Cass is really trying to set 'em up.

- I like to draw and all that.
- Basketball.

- I like to sing, and dancing with my best friend, Annabel.

- C.A.R.E and my work, and Laughing Feet.

- [Film Maker] Did you ask your Dad questions, too, about it?
- Yeah, I start with my parents first.
- [Film Maker] What did you ask?
- How does it feel, like, having Down syndrome as a daughter?
- I think I said that it was like a blessing, learning from her, how she's always positive.
Well, I told her about charisma and grace.
- [Film Maker] Yes.
- And so I had to explain it to her, because she didn't understand what I was talking about.
And she's got that, because everywhere we go, she makes friends.
You know, that's something special she's got.
- [Film Maker] What did you think about that, Annabel?
- It felt great.
- Kinda makes me happy.
- [Father] Yeah, she likes to talk about her.
(Father laughing) I think you noticed that.
- Dad!

I work at Paleteria La Reyna.
It is named after me.

- What do you like about special needs adults?
- What do I like about adults with special needs?
- [Annabel] Yeah.
- I like how loving they are, how funny they are, non-judgmental.
- And how do you think about Down syndrome, like, when you look at them inside?
- All of my friends with Down Syndrome make C.A.R.E a wonderful place to be.
- How wonderful are they?
- I can't even describe how wonderful they are.
- Oh, at least you're trying.
(Abbey laughing) - How do you feel about Down syndrome?
- Umm.
Very friendly.
- Very friendly.
- And kind.
Always be funny.
- Especially you.
- Okay.
Um, oh, dang, it's kind of... - Do you feel like you're different than anybody else?
- Yeah.
- Really?
- Yeah.
- How are you different?
- You guys, um, just very nice person like you- - Mm-hmm.
- And the other people- - Mm-hmm.
- Kind of feels like watching.
To looked at or laughed at, it kind of makes me, like, oh man, okay, now I feel emotional.
- [Abbey] Do you feel people like that look like me, that laugh at you and look at you differently?
- Yeah.
That kind of feels weird.
