JEN: Oh.
RICARDO: Oh, boy.
Look at this.
MELANIE: Welcome to home number three.
This is what you call a craftsman style.
JEN: The rustic feel with the natural wood, beautiful.
RICARDO: And you've got this amazing walkway to get to this incredibly impressive front doorway.
JEN: Uh, yeah.
RICARDO: This is a huge double door.
MELANIE: Yes.
This is a French door with beveled glass, very unique, and certainly stands out from the façade of the home.
And the inside is brand spanking new, meticulously renovated just this year.
Now, you all better pay close attention to every little detail because this is the tiebreaker.
JEN: Grr.
MELANIE: Who's gonna come out as the champion?
JEN: We'll find out when we see you for the game.
MELANIE: I'll see you then.
JEN: All right.
It's on, man.
RICARDO: It is so on.
Oh.
So, yes, the door definitely does justice to the space.
JEN: This is stunning.
RICARDO: It really is, and this white oak floor.
I love the detail and the texture.
JEN: And it's really just, like, door to floor.
RICARDO: Mm-hmm.
JEN: Just bringing nature inside.
Why don't we make our way to the dining area?
RICARDO: I'm right behind you.
JEN: Okay.
RICARDO: The thing about the chandelier is it's modern but it's got a traditional sort of vibe to it with the individual candles.
JEN: And then, look at the light pouring in from all of the windows, and I'm really inspired to throw a party here.
RICARDO: You gotta prep for a party in your kitchen, so we should check that kitchen out.
JEN: Oh, please.
I've been dying to get in there.
This kitchen feels so bright.
I immediately feel the warmth.
It's the gold fixtures.
All day, we've seen these very hard, dark fixtures.
RICARDO: Yeah.
JEN: And so, having the gold really is lightening it up.
I also like how the gold is being picked up on the beautiful countertops as well.
RICARDO: Yeah, and I'm in love with the six-burner range.
JEN: Just marry me already, would ya?
Golly.
RICARDO: Yeah, but, a great hood, and this refrigerator with this extra drawer there, I think, is really impressive.
JEN: Yeah, the flex drawer is very cool.
And so much beautiful light coming in from this massive picture window, looking back into the beautiful backyard.
What do you think?
Upstairs or downstairs next?
RICARDO: Hmm, let's try up.
JEN: All right.
Let's go.
RICARDO: Okay.
JEN: Oh, perfect.
RICARDO: It's a nice size.
Very bright.
Those windows are huge.
JEN: Yeah, I really like how it overlooks the backyard.
RICARDO: Great.
JEN: The sister to that room.
RICARDO: And the floors are gorgeous everywhere up here.
JEN: Yeah, and double-door closet.
Ooh.
RICARDO: Wow.
I love the gold details in the tile.
JEN: Yeah, it's really picked up by the hardware here and I also like the gold rim around this beautiful window.
RICARDO: I'm a fan.
JEN: Yeah.
Oh, this is beautiful.
Look at these massive widows in here.
RICARDO: Yeah, I love that this room isn't your standard box.
The windows are in different spots um, and it's a longer room too.
Great wall space for a TV.
JEN: Yes.
No, this is definitely not your average primary.
Well, let's peek around this corner over here.
RICARDO: Okay.
Oh.
JEN: Oh.
RICARDO: This is how you do a bathroom.
JEN: I love the blueish gray in these massive tiles on the wall.
RICARDO: And look at the gold details in the hardware.
JEN: And then, to top it all off with this beautiful hexagon floor pattern.
RICARDO: Mm-hmm.
JEN: I mean, if I died and came back as a tile, this is how I would want to be remembered.
RICARDO: Yeah.
I would want to come back as this beautiful waterfall shower head.
That's amazing.
JEN: What's back here?
Whoa!
RICARDO: Oh, this is a beautiful walk-in closet.
Look at this.
It's massive.
JEN: Yeah, there's a lot of surprises in this room.
RICARDO: Let's go upstairs.
JEN: All right.
You're gonna love this.
RICARDO: I do.
JEN: This could be a great area for guests.
Over here, bedroom.
Over here's kind of a sitting area.
RICARDO: And this bench here by the window, great for chilling out.
That is a great feature.
JEN: Yes, there's one more area to check out.
RICARDO: The basement?
JEN: Yeah.
RICARDO: Let's go.
JEN: You've got to be kidding me!
I'm really impressed by this full kitchen with full-size appliances and it's a full two-bedroom apartment.
RICARDO: Yeah, and a bathroom back here.
You've got everything you need.
JEN: Private entrance.
So, I'm thinking rental opportunity.
This is making this guess, like, impossible.
RICARDO: Oh, good.
I was hoping you would say that because I'm gonna take you down, and if you can't come up with a number, it's gonna make it easier for me.
JEN: Well, we'll see about that.
Let's head back upstairs and find Mel for the game.
MELANIE: Welcome back.
So, what did you think of house number three?
RICARDO: Everything feels brand new.
From the moment we walked in, these impressive floors really, really took my breath away, and these beautiful, large windows all throughout the property.
Loved them.
JEN: Yes.
Definitely made the space feel humongous, but also rustic, warm, especially with the gold tones in the kitchen.
MELANIE: Did you all check out that amazing basement?
RICARDO: Yeah.
JEN: I mean, it was kind of a shock.
RICARDO: But it was absolutely gorgeous and it had two bedrooms, a bathroom, and a great kitchen down there, which also complemented the kitchen style upstairs, and worked really well.
MELANIE: You cannot outgrow this space, right?
RICARDO: True.
JEN: That's true, yes.
RICARDO: Yeah, that's a good point.
MELANIE: This home has five bedrooms, four full baths, one half a bath.
The square footage is 3,500 square feet and it was built in 1926 but renovated in 2024.
RICARDO: Uh, $1,250,000.
JEN: Ooh.
MELANIE: Okay.
JEN: Okay, I'm gonna go a little bit higher and I'm gonna guess 1,400,000.
MELANIE: The actual list price is 1.399,999.
RICARDO: What?
MELANIE: So, Ricardo, you're the winner, and I'm sorry.
It looks like you lost by a dollar.
RICARDO: You were really close.
So... MELANIE: You were very close.
JEN: Oh, man.
MELANIE: So, how about my treat to a very popular restaurant on Rhode Island Avenue called His & Hers?
JEN: Aww, His & Hers.
RICARDO: Well... MELANIE: That's right.
Something for us all.
JEN: Yeah.
RICARDO: Thank you, Mel.
MELANIE: All right, let's go.
JEN: All right.
RICARDO: So sorry, friend.
JEN: Oh, man, you owe me a dollar.
(laughter).
