RICARDO: Wow.
MELANIE: Welcome to house number two.
JEN: This property really stands out in this neighborhood, given this very unique choice of color.
MELANIE: So, it's almost 120 years old... JEN: Wow.
MELANIE: But the developer wanted to preserve the look.
And so, he decided to keep the original frame.
Here's the home before the renovation.
JEN: Oh, my gosh.
MELANIE: So, as you can see, it still looks the same, pretty much, from the façade, but with a facelift and some new love put into it.
RICARDO: I can totally see that the basic design of the home is exactly what it used to be.
The facelift was well done.
MELANIE: Yes.
JEN: Yeah.
RICARDO: Right?
Kudos to the surgeon.
MELANIE: Absolutely.
JEN: Especially with the orange door.
RICARDO: Nice and welcoming and inviting.
Well, I can't wait to take a look and we will find you afterwards to play game number two.
MELANIE: All right, I look forward to it.
JEN: All right, Mel.
RICARDO: All right.
JEN: See you in a bit.
MELANIE: All right.
Have fun.
RICARDO: Get that orange door open.
JEN: Yes!
RICARDO: Ooh.
JEN: Oh, ooh-la-la.
RICARDO: This is unexpected.
JEN: I was not expecting bright, bright, bright.
RICARDO: I love the high ceilings.
I love that there's even a skylight in there.
JEN: I love the open banister because it's making this room feel open and bright.
RICARDO: Mm-hmm.
This fireplace, I have to say, is a great touch.
JEN: Yeah.
RICARDO: So, my eye is drawn back here to the kitchen area.
I'd love to check this out.
JEN: Beautiful.
Lead the way.
RICARDO: Okay.
Follow me.
I've not seen tile like this before.
JEN: The little glint of silver really does make me smile and it complements the stainless steel appliances.
And how beautiful is this island?
RICARDO: This is gorgeous and did you notice that the cabinets are actually two different colors?
JEN: Oh, yeah.
I love the two-tone.
It looks like there's a pantry with a barn door.
RICARDO: There's so much space in there.
And this doesn't take up too much space in the room.
JEN: No, and it's pretty quiet too.
RICARDO: Yeah.
JEN: And then, this amazing deck, so much space out there.
RICARDO: Oh, it's so great to have a yard this size in the District.
JEN: I know that you're chomping to get out there, but we have so much house left.
RICARDO: All right.
JEN: Come on.
What's over here?
All right, they've staged it as an office but, given that it has this massive closet and a full bathroom... RICARDO: Mm-hmm, that's crazy.
JEN: It could absolutely just be a bedroom.
I really love the tile work and the recessed area there for your products.
RICARDO: And that waterfall shower head looks great too.
JEN: That is really nice.
I'm liking some of the design choices in this house so far.
RICARDO: Yeah, I'm not mad at them.
JEN: No, all right, let's keep going.
RICARDO: All right.
JEN: Ooh.
RICARDO: Wow, great.
These high ceilings.
JEN: This must be the primary.
RICARDO: Yes.
Yeah, it's a great size space, and maybe more storage here?
Oh, it's a walk-in.
JEN: This is nice.
RICARDO: I love it.
JEN: All kinds of little nooks and crannies.
RICARDO: Yeah.
JEN: All right.
Let's go see this bathroom.
RICARDO: Okay.
What?
JEN: This shower-tub combo!
RICARDO: I absolutely love being able to fill up your tub all the way and not worry about water splashing all over the place.
JEN: Yeah, the tile in here is amazing, both on the floor and in the shower.
RICARDO: And I love the double vanity.
I love the amount of storage in here.
JEN: I don't wanna leave but we have a whole downstairs to tour.
RICARDO: Oh, that's right.
Let's go.
JEN: All right.
RICARDO: This is great.
This is, like, a little apartment down here.
JEN: This is really cool and it's making me rethink everything I thought about the upper level, which is this is living space.
This is TV, this is hangout, and up there is maybe a little more formal.
RICARDO: Yeah.
JEN: Whoa.
RICARDO: Look at this big room.
JEN: We're on the lower level but the ceilings don't give that away.
RICARDO: No, you're absolutely right.
JEN: I like how they've set it up, but I'm feeling gym.
RICARDO: That's a great idea.
JEN: Oh, this is cool.
RICARDO: This is amazing.
And look, floating shelves and a wine fridge.
JEN: I feel like the party is absolutely getting started over here with the lighting underneath.
We have a lot to think about.
RICARDO: Mm-hmm, you ready?
JEN: To go get a second win for me?
RICARDO: To go get a first win for me.
JEN: Oh, well, we'll see.
RICARDO: All right.
JEN: Let's go.
RICARDO: All right, here she is.
MELANIE: Welcome back.
So, what did you all think of house number two?
RICARDO: I'm sorry, Jen.
I'm gonna jump right in and I'm gonna start with that kitchen.
JEN: Oh, this is a nice change of pace.
You go on ahead.
RICARDO: So, first of all, I have never seen a backsplash like that.
MELANIE: Yeah.
RICARDO: So classy.
I loved the white and silver.
It complemented everything else in the kitchen.
JEN: I think that that main bathroom in the primary is probably the best bathroom I've seen in the entire season of the show.
MELANIE: I was just getting ready to ask how did you think about that soaking tub... JEN: Yes.
MELANIE: And that huge waterfall shower head.
RICARDO: Yeah, it's what I want for Christmas.
MELANIE: I'm glad you enjoyed it.
JEN: But, crème de la crème, gotta say, this deck and this yard space right here, I mean, just beautiful.
RICARDO: Yeah.
MELANIE: Exteriors just as beautiful as the interior, right?
JEN: Yes.
RICARDO: Absolutely.
MELANIE: So, the home has four bedrooms, three full baths, two half baths.
The square footage is 2,250, built in 1905 but renovated in 2024.
So, can you guess the price?
JEN: I can't!
RICARDO: You're first.
JEN: I'm gonna guess 755,500.
MELANIE: Okay.
755,500.
RICARDO: Oh, I was gonna go a lot higher than that, and I'm gonna do it.
JEN: Feel free.
All right.
MELANIE: All right.
RICARDO: I know.
MELANIE: Jump on in there.
RICARDO: Uh, I'm gonna say 800 even this time.
MELANIE: The actual list price is 825.
JEN: Oh!
RICARDO: Oh!
MELANIE: You are the winner!
RICARDO: I coulda went even higher!
I knew it!
I knew it!
I knew it!
Ugh!
JEN: Congratulations.
RICARDO: Whoa.
MELANIE: So, it's an even field right now.
One winner for both.
RICARDO: Whoo!
MELANIE: Ready for house three?
That will be the tie-breaker.
JEN: I'm ready.
You ready?
RICARDO: Yeah.
MELANIE: All right.
Let's go.
RICARDO: All right.
Let's go.
I'm ready to kick your butt.
JEN: Oh, rude!
RICARDO: Yeah, that's right.
I said it.
