I'm Kim Parmeter president and CEO of the Hermantown Area Chamber of Commerce And we are very excited to be hosting the first regional competition for the U.S.
Chamber Foundation's Civics Bee.
As a concerted effort with the 250th anniversary year of the United States, they wanted to make sure that every state was participating, and Minnesota was one of the last ones to join in on that.
And so we're super excited that this is this is the first year Minnesota is participating.
And Hermantown was selected as a regional partner.
The competition is open to any sixth, seventh and eighth graders.
They have to fulfill an essay requirement.
They can submit that all entirely online by February 3rd.
And after that, they'll be notified a few weeks later if they are going to move forward.
And then our regional competition will be in, April Students can submit their applications online.
Just go to our website, Hermantown chamber.com It's just a great chance to give them a voice because they are our future leaders.
