And now, "If You Lived Here".
A WETA original series.
JEN: Hi, I'm Jen.
RICARDO: And I'm Ricardo.
JEN: We're honored to carry on the legacy of, "If You Lived Here".
RICARDO: And continue celebrating the neighborhoods of the DMV.
I'm a native Washingtonian.
JEN: And I've lived in all four quadrants of the DMV.
RICARDO: We've always loved checking out open houses.
JEN: And today we'll tour three of them.
RICARDO: We'll still try to guess the list price without going over, so join us for a new season of...
BOTH: "If You Lived Here."
(doorbell) LAUREN: Hey Jen and Ricardo.
RICARDO: Hey Lauren.
LAUREN: Welcome to Burke.
Thank you so much for meeting me here today.
JEN: This is gorgeous.
RICARDO: Yeah, it's so green.
LAUREN: I really wanted to meet you today at Royal Lake because this is really classic Burke to me.
So many of the neighborhoods have their own little lakes and ponds and the opportunity to walk a trail, use the playgrounds, just steps away from your house.
RICARDO: I'm a native Washingtonian.
I've lived in the city all my life and I've never been out to Burke and it's so close.
JEN: Yeah, also been in the district for over a decade.
First visit to Burke.
LAUREN: What I love about Burke, it's a small-town feel despite being 20 minutes from DC.
Lots of families, lots of young kids running around, riding their bikes everywhere.
It really has that community feel.
RICARDO: I'm really looking forward to seeing what Burke has to offer in the way of property.
JEN: Yeah, same.
LAUREN: Burke has 44,000 residents.
We have a few condos but the majority are townhomes or single-family homes in these established bigger subdivisions that were built around the '70s.
RICARDO: All right.
Let's get going.
LAUREN: All right.
JEN: All right.
RICARDO: Here we come.
(doorbell) JEN: This is adorable.
RICARDO: Look at how cute this is.
LAUREN: Welcome to house number one.
JEN: Woo-hoo.
RICARDO: Thank you.
LAUREN: I am so glad to show you a wonderful starter option here in Burke.
We are in the neighborhood of Wooded Glen which is on a quiet court, and the beauty of this one too is that it has a really nice private backyard.
JEN: Yeah, as we were driving in, it was just, like, trees, trees, trees.
RICARDO: And, It definitely lives up to its name, Wooded Glen.
LAUREN: There is a lot of bang for your buck here.
There are wonderful updates inside, but a lot of room to grow.
Are you all so excited to go tour your very first house?
RICARDO: Absolutely.
JEN: Yes.
LAUREN: Awesome.
Well, have a great tour and I'll see you after for the game.
JEN: All right.
Thank you.
RICARDO: Thank you, Lauren.
Oh, wow.
This is a lot bigger than I thought it would be.
JEN: Yeah, I'm drawn to this window.
You know I love houseplants.
RICARDO: Mm-hmm.
JEN: This is the perfect environment for them.
This early daylight, they are going to soak that up and be so happy in this room.
RICARDO: Yeah, I think these walls are perfect for artwork, for family photographs.
Let's go take a look at this kitchen.
JEN: All right.
RICARDO: This looks interesting.
Okay, it's a dining room and kitchen.
JEN: Oh.
RICARDO: Open concept.
I like this.
JEN: Me too.
RICARDO: I like this.
JEN: This feels very open and airy.
RICARDO: Yeah, I love an island, too.
JEN: Yeah, ample counter space and a ton of storage.
RICARDO: And also, look at this deck.
You've got a great view of the woods and it looks really secluded and private.
JEN: Yeah, it's pretty big.
Maybe we'll go upstairs.
RICARDO: Okay, yeah, we can go upstairs.
JEN: Oh, wait a minute, wait.
What do we have over here?
Let's... RICARDO: This is probably the HVAC.
JEN: Oh, half bath.
RICARDO: Oh, nice.
On the main level.
JEN: This backsplash is adorable to me.
RICARDO: I love the color pattern.
JEN: Very serene and calming in here.
RICARDO: Mm-hmm.
Let's look upstairs.
All right.
This is great.
JEN: Yeah.
RICARDO: Lots of rooms up here.
JEN: Yeah.
RICARDO: Still very bright, though.
JEN: Let's check out the first room.
RICARDO: Okay.
JEN: Oh, great room.
RICARDO: This is cute.
JEN: Yeah, again with the morning light.
Double closet in here.
RICARDO: Mm-hmm, this would be a great home office.
JEN: And I think you could fit a queen-sized bed in here, don't you?
RICARDO: True.
JEN: Let's see what else we got.
RICARDO: Okay, a-ha, also a good-sized bedroom.
JEN: Yeah.
RICARDO: What else is up here?
JEN: Here we have our full bath.
This bathroom could maybe use a little refresh just to make it your own.
RICARDO: Great starter.
So this is the primary.
Oh, wow.
JEN: Wow.
RICARDO: These ceilings are very surprising.
JEN: Yeah, really.
And I know you're a big fan of a tall ceiling.
RICARDO: Yeah.
(Jen laughs).
RICARDO: It's too tall?
JEN: No.
RICARDO: Oh.
JEN: I don't think it could ever be too tall, but... RICARDO: Me neither.
JEN: This is great and these windows really open the room up to nature.
It feels very private and secluded.
RICARDO: Yeah, I love this tile work.
JEN: Yeah.
RICARDO: And a really, really great shower head.
JEN: I might consider replacing this vanity with something a little more modern.
RICARDO: I can see that.
JEN: Well, I'm really excited to move onto the closet.
RICARDO: Okay.
JEN: All right.
Oh.
It's two closets.
RICARDO: It's two closets?
JEN: Yeah.
RICARDO: Look at that.
JEN: I didn't realize.
Hello?
Anybody home?
RICARDO: It's just me.
I'll be out in a second.
JEN: Hey, keep it down over there.
(Ricardo laughs).
JEN: I thought it absolutely was a pass-through.
RICARDO: I wonder what it would be like if you knocked the wall down.
You could make it a true walk-in.
JEN: Yeah, you might actually lose a little bit of storage space by not having it partitioned.
RICARDO: That's true.
JEN: Because they are using the wall in a really smart way to add storage.
RICARDO: True.
JEN: So, we'll just have to think about it when we move in.
RICARDO: Well, before we sign the paperwork, let's go check out the basement.
JEN: Oh, okay, great.
(Ricardo laughs).
JEN: I'm really looking forward to seeing what's down here.
RICARDO: Yeah.
JEN: Oh, wow.
A bonus room.
RICARDO: Oh, this is great.
Look how bright this is.
JEN: Yeah and I'm so surprised that the ceilings on this lower level are so high.
RICARDO: We're in a basement and I can do this.
JEN: It's incredible.
RICARDO: But, the fireplace has got to be the piece de resistance of this room.
JEN: It really is a nice centerpiece and I think maybe this becomes your primary living room area.
RICARDO: Right.
JEN: And it walks right out into the backyard.
Oh.
RICARDO: I think I see Lauren.
You know what this means?
JEN: What?
RICARDO: It's time to play our first game.
Let's go.
JEN: All right.
RICARDO: Hello.
LAUREN: Welcome back.
JEN: Hey.
LAUREN: What did you guys think of the very first house?
RICARDO: This yard is fantastic.
We didn't even really get a chance to appreciate this.
LAUREN: Yeah, absolutely.
This outdoor area is wonderful and then you have the upper level deck from the kitchen with the bump out.
RICARDO: Looking out, it felt like you were in your own private tree house.
JEN: Even with neighbors on either side.
LAUREN: Yeah, so it really feels secluded.
JEN: Given the square footage of this home, I was shocked by the amount of storage.
Everywhere you looked there was a closet.
RICARDO: Yeah.
JEN: And there's a place for everything in this house.
LAUREN: Oh, yeah.
RICARDO: And the space, I have to say, that primary, that was a surprise I was not expecting.
A welcome surprise.
JEN: Yeah.
LAUREN: And on all levels too, right?
Even in the lower level.
Everywhere.
It just gives it... RICARDO: Even in the basement.
LAUREN: Yeah, that tall ceiling height despite a smaller square footage really just makes the room feel spacious.
RICARDO: Okay, before we play our first game, would you tell us the stats of this house one more time?
LAUREN: It is four bedrooms, three and a half bathrooms, 1,785 square feet, including the basement.
Built in 1986.
If you had to pick a list price, what would it be?
JEN: You want me to go first?
RICARDO: Yes.
(laughter).
JEN: Oh, okay.
This is a lot of pressure.
RICARDO: Yeah.
JEN: But, I'm going to say $525,000.
LAUREN: Okay.
RICARDO: Okay, I will say $500,000.
LAUREN: The actual list price is $615,000.
RICARDO: Whoa.
LAUREN: So Jen is closer.
RICARDO: Congratulations.
JEN: Yay, oh my gosh.
RICARDO: Wow.
JEN: I can't believe it.
RICARDO: It's hard to believe this is where we're starting from.
I can't imagine where we're going from here but... JEN: No.
RICARDO: I cannot wait to see.
LAUREN: Well, are you guys ready to head to the next one then?
RICARDO: Yeah, bring it on Lauren.
JEN: All right.
LAUREN: Let's go.
JEN: Maybe you'll have better luck at house number two.
RICARDO: I certainly hope so.
(barking) CHRIS: In 1848, the Orange and Alexandria Railroad Company chartered with the intent of building a railroad from Gordonsville through Orange and ending in Alexandria, Virginia.
Silas Burke was one of the early stockholders and he convinced his neighbors to donate a portion of the right of way to have the railroad go through Burke.
The railroad was a very strategic resource for both the Union and Confederate Army.
During the Civil War, enslaved people escaped to the city of Alexandria and worked along the railroad chopping wood and Burke became just quite a hub of these wood choppers.
LESLIE: They were referred to as contraband.
They were in great danger here not only the physical danger from the Confederate troops but also, you can imagine if they were captured, they would have been sold back into slavery, if not killed on site.
The lumber that came out of this activity was used in any number of ways.
Bridge trusses and also fuel.
Had these men not made their contributions, we could be talking about a very different outcome in this country.
There's a lot of history in Burke and the stories continue to be uncovered.
MARY: During the Civil War, Henry Copperthite was a wagon master.
And then after the war, Copperthite was a pie company owner in Washington, DC.
He was very successful selling pies for the Connecticut Pie Company and he wanted a summer getaway and he chose the Burke area.
Bought the Silas Burke Farm around 1900 and he built the Copperthite Racetrack in 1908 and had motorcycle racing, car racing, and also the harness racing.
And it actually puts Burke on the map.
MISTY: Burke Nursery and Garden Center sits on the area that used to be the Copperthite Racetrack.
FRED: We officially opened in the spring of 1978.
We're still a small family-owned business.
We started out with just the basics and have slowly expanded.
MISTY: Burke Nursery and Garden Center loves to bring the community together.
Every October we have what we call the Fall Farm Market.
The atmosphere at the farm market is amazing.
There's a lot of joy and so to me, the nursery carries on the tradition of the Burke community.
(doorbell) LAUREN: Welcome to house number two.
RICARDO: Thank you.
LAUREN: I am so excited to show you a house in Burke Centre as Burke Centre is the biggest community that we have here in Burke.
There are over 5,800 homes here.
RICARDO: Wow.
LAUREN: Yeah, Burke had a really big boom in the '70s.
The first neighbors in Burke Centre moved in in 1977 and this house was actually built in 1978.
JEN: Can you tell me a little bit more about what's nearby?
LAUREN: Yeah, one really unique thing about Burke Centre is the accessibility of it.
There are so many trails and there's also the Burke Centre VRE right around the corner.
RICARDO: Before we go inside, is there anything that we should be on the lookout for?
LAUREN: I want you guys to spend a moment on the deck outside.
You'll really feel immersed in nature.
RICARDO: Well, all that sounds fantastic.
I'm ready to go take a look at the house.
LAUREN: Well, I'll meet you outside for the game.
JEN: All right.
RICARDO: Thank you.
LAUREN: All right.
JEN: Thanks.
Oh.
RICARDO: Oh.
JEN: Wow.
RICARDO: Well, this is cozy.
Sort of a 70s floor plan and classic layout.
JEN: Yeah, but Lauren was right.
It still feels very modern and fresh.
RICARDO: Mm-hmm.
JEN: This is great.
RICARDO: Oh, it's got a lot of natural light in here.
JEN: Yeah, it's kind of a multi-purpose room right now.
RICARDO: Mm-hmm.
JEN: So it's serving as a sitting room but also as an office.
It feels like there's a lot of options for this space.
RICARDO: Right.
And this crown molding is a nice touch.
Looks like it goes all throughout.
JEN: Yeah, I really like the decorative touch of the corner block.
It's something that you don't really typically see these days.
RICARDO: Right.
And you can close these double doors here for a little privacy too if you like.
JEN: Yeah.
What a nice transition into this space.
RICARDO: Oh, yeah.
This is nice and open.
JEN: There's a lot of room for relaxing in here.
I love the fireplace.
And the whitewash gives it kind of a fresh feeling.
I have to say, though.
I'm a little distracted and my eyes are turned toward these double doors.
(laughs).
RICARDO: After you.
After you.
JEN: Okay, thanks.
Ah.
Beautiful.
My gosh.
Look at the trellis.
RICARDO: Oh.
JEN: And seating for about 10-15 people out here.
RICARDO: Mm-hmm.
If I was living here, I'd be grilling all the time.
JEN: The landscaping is also beautiful.
This is a perfect spot for kids and dogs.
RICARDO: Maybe a little meditation.
JEN: Oh okay, let's just give it a second.
RICARDO: But we got to look at the rest of the house.
JEN: Nah, I'm-a-stay right here.
So here we are in the kitchen.
RICARDO: Okay, yeah, the color scheme looks great.
I think these counters and this backsplash are a lovely way to unify the entire space.
JEN: Absolutely.
I also think the black hardware really makes the colors stand out.
RICARDO: Mm.
JEN: I'm also a big fan of a lazy Susan.
I grew up with a lazy Susan.
RICARDO: Oh, yeah.
JEN: We did not have a pantry when I was younger and this is really where everything from soup to cereal was stored.
RICARDO: Who doesn't love soup?
JEN: Why don't we see what's down here?
I'm seeing some blue.
RICARDO: Yeah.
JEN: Okay, this is beautiful.
RICARDO: It's so tasteful.
JEN: Yeah, I really like this light fixture and the blue is beautiful.
RICARDO: Mm-hmm, the blue.
JEN: I also wanted to point out the chair rail here which is a great way to protect your beautiful paint.
RICARDO: You know what?
We should look upstairs.
JEN: Okay.
Why don't we head right?
RICARDO: Oh.
It's very bright.
These windows.
JEN: They are amazing.
Why don't we see what we have back here?
RICARDO: Let's go.
JEN: Okay.
RICARDO: Nice storage space.
JEN: Yes.
Lovely.
Oh, full bathroom.
RICARDO: Oh okay, this is nice, this is updated.
JEN: Yeah, it has another one of those beautiful windows.
RICARDO: This tile work is really pretty.
This is not 1970s.
JEN: Really nice.
RICARDO: All right.
What else is in here?
What do you think is in this room over here?
JEN: I cannot even guess.
Let's see.
RICARDO: Hello walk-in.
JEN: Oh, wow.
This is great.
What a surprise in this room.
RICARDO: Yeah, I feel like you could continue to use it as a closet space but you could also use it as an extra bedroom.
You can make it a nursery since you're connected to the primary bedroom.
JEN: Oh yeah, with the double entrances.
RICARDO: Mm-hmm.
JEN: That's a great idea.
I love it.
RICARDO: Let's take a look at what else is up here.
JEN: Okay.
Oh, sweet.
RICARDO: That's a nice bedroom.
JEN: Queen-size bed.
RICARDO: Mm-hmm.
JEN: Very comfortable, welcoming.
RICARDO: Okay, this is even larger than the last bedroom.
JEN: Being able to look out into the backyard is really nice and it has a double door closet which is great for extra storage.
RICARDO: Mm-hmm, I think there's one more room up here.
JEN: Okay, great.
RICARDO: Oh, this is a nice size as well.
JEN: Yeah, this is sweet.
RICARDO: Yeah.
JEN: The natural light is nice.
It's bigger than the last room.
A larger closet.
I really like it up here.
RICARDO: Yeah, I think it's time to meet up with Lauren and play the game.
JEN: All right.
LAUREN: Welcome back.
JEN: Hey.
RICARDO: Thank you.
LAUREN: What did you guys think of house number two?
JEN: I really loved the kitchen.
I thought it was really thoughtfully laid out.
Plenty of storage.
And enough counter space to get the job done.
LAUREN: And kind of a fun modern take on the traditional 70s kitchen.
RICARDO: And Lauren, I want to thank you.
We were able to find a moment of zen on the deck back here.
JEN: There's so much seating.
There's so much room.
This is a really good candidate for an entertaining home.
LAUREN: So, it's a five-bedroom house with two full, two half bath.
3,076 square feet including the basement and it was built in 1978.
Can you guess the list price?
RICARDO: I would say 800,000.
LAUREN: OK. JEN: Mm, I'm going to stay in a similar range, um, and just go a little bit higher with 815,500.
LAUREN: Okay, the actual list price is $889,900.
RICARDO: Oh.
LAUREN: So Jen is closer.
JEN: Yay, I mean... RICARDO: Congratulations.
JEN: Still pretty far away but closer than you.
LAUREN: Yes.
JEN: So.
LAUREN: You guys were fairly close.
In a good range there.
So I cannot wait to show you the next home.
We've been in the 70s but now we're going to go see a brand new build.
JEN: Let's go.
New build.
MARY: In the late 1950s, National Airport was having problems with too many airplanes and larger airplanes.
So, the Civil Aeronautics Administration was tasked with finding a location for a new airport.
Seven places were selected and one was Burke.
In June of 1951, a government official came into Burke and posted a notice that announced that the government was condemning over 4,000 acres to be the new airport.
Within six months, 35 families moved out of Burke.
Others moved their own homes.
With this threat of the airport, the Burke Civic Association was born.
One thing the Burke residents did to oppose the airport was to contact anyone they knew of to contact their congressmen to vote no and it worked.
Eisenhower decided, we're going to build in Chantilly and it became Dulles Airport.
This was the story of David against Goliath, and that was the representation of the small community being able to fight the giant.
Eight years after the condemnation, to the day, a land auction was held in Burke.
The land that people did not reclaim was now up for sale and you have developers building homes and all sorts of communities around us.
There actually had also been a fishing association saying, "We need a lake," and where it was planned to be an airport, became Burke Lake Park.
CHRIS: Burke Lake Park is one of the crown jewels of the Fairfax County Park Authority Park System.
It's full of amenities including carousels, camping, picnicking, Frisbee, disc golf, you name it.
Our two main attractions in the park would one be fishing and the lake is stocked by the state.
It's actually open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for fishing.
(train whistle) One of our biggest recreational attractions outside of fishing would be our miniature train which will hold up to 55 people so parents and children love to come out, ride the train.
The hiking trails around Burke Lake are numerous.
The number one trail we have we call the Lake Trail and that is almost five miles long.
While Burke Lake Park is a regional draw, the community members of Burke really take the most advantage of it.
It really is the most incredible backyard park someone could ever have.
(doorbell) ♪ ♪ LAUREN: Welcome to house number three.
RICARDO: Wow.
JEN: Thank you.
RICARDO: Definitely pinch me.
JEN: I would sit on that covered porch for hours.
LAUREN: Yeah.
JEN: Drink my coffee, drink my cocktail.
(Ricardo laughs).
JEN: I would just spend all of my time... LAUREN: Oh, yeah.
JEN: Out there because it's so beautiful out here.
RICARDO: It really is.
JEN: Don't you think?
RICARDO: Yeah, yeah.
LAUREN: New builds are very rare, actually.
Most of the homes are in these established neighborhoods that have been around since the 70s.
So, a lot of the communities here have strict HOAs so you're not even allowed to tear them down and rebuild.
RICARDO: Okay, so, Lauren, it really feels like we're really nestled in nature.
LAUREN: Yes, so, Burke Lake is about 10 minutes away.
But, the closest lake is Lake Braddock so that's within walking distance.
And, if you just follow this road down a little bit you'll get to the Ninja Warrior Playground.
RICARDO: What?
LAUREN: Yes.
RICARDO: Oh, no.
Oh, no.
(laughter).
LAUREN: For big kids.
RICARDO: Perfect.
That's me.
LAUREN: So it's really fun.
Yeah, get a good, yeah, exactly.
RICARDO: Well, I can't wait to take a look at it.
JEN: I'm very excited so we will see you after for the game.
RICARDO: Where I will win.
JEN: Mm-hmm.
(laughter).
LAUREN: Best of luck and have a great showing.
JEN: Thanks.
RICARDO: Thank you.
LAUREN: All right.
JEN: Wow.
Oh.
RICARDO: Oh.
JEN: Wow.
RICARDO: Look at that.
It's so bright.
JEN: My eye is immediately drawn to these stairs.
These interesting railings.
RICARDO: The floors are beautiful and I love how they really unify the space.
All right, let's see what's around this corner.
JEN: Oh.
RICARDO: Oh, look at this dining room.
JEN: With these beautifully tall windows.
I think that that window might be taller than you.
(laughter).
RICARDO: Impossible.
JEN: I think we're definitely into the dream home scenario with a light fixture like this, RICARDO: Yeah, and what flows right into the open concept.
JEN: Wow, there's a lot of space in here.
RICARDO: And a lot of light.
JEN: But I think you know me well enough to know that I will immediately be drawn to the kitchen area.
RICARDO: To the kitchen.
JEN: This is beautiful.
RICARDO: It is.
JEN: I love this amazingly large quartz island.
RICARDO: You could get four people here easily.
JEN: There's also a ton of storage.
RICARDO: Yeah, these appliances are gorgeous.
This hood is amazing.
I love this gold color.
JEN: It really adds a warmth to the room including these sconces.
RICARDO: Uh-huh.
JEN: I like to see what I'm doing when I'm cooking.
RICARDO: What is this going on with the refrigerator?
JEN: Wine drawer.
RICARDO: Get out.
That settles it.
I'm home.
JEN: Well, there's also a customizable lock on here.
RICARDO: Are you kidding?
JEN: So guess what?
I'm changing the code, and you'll never know it.
(laughs) RICARDO: Okay, look at this patio.
JEN: I feel like I could just follow the sun around this house and keep sitting outside all day.
I think it's so beautiful.
RICARDO: Yeah.
JEN: All right.
Are we going high or are we going low?
RICARDO: Let's go low.
Let's go low.
JEN: Okay.
What do we have right off the bat?
RICARDO: Wall to wall carpet.
Oh.
JEN: Oh, a little guest room.
RICARDO: Yeah.
JEN: But not little at all.
RICARDO: No, it's a great size and this is what?
A queen-sized bed?
JEN: Yeah, I think you're right.
And a double closet.
RICARDO: Nice.
JEN: Oh, bathroom.
RICARDO: This is lovely.
I love this vertical tile.
JEN: And I really like how it kind of is a juxtaposition against this basket weave flooring.
I love that.
Let's see what else we got here.
RICARDO: What else is down here?
Wow.
JEN: Whoa.
RICARDO: It's very cozy and then there's a bar?
JEN: Another wine fridge.
RICARDO: Yeah.
JEN: That one doesn't appear to have a lock though.
(laughs).
RICARDO: This is definitely your chill spot.
JEN: Yeah, you want to see what else there is to look at?
RICARDO: Upstairs?
JEN: Yes.
RICARDO: Yeah, let's go take a look.
JEN: All right.
RICARDO: This is an impressive ascent.
JEN: Oh my gosh.
Look at this window.
RICARDO: This window is huge.
JEN: The natural light in this house really is just incredible.
Oh, lovely bedroom.
RICARDO: Yeah, it's a great size.
JEN: And again with the high ceilings.
Oh my gosh, it has a bathroom.
RICARDO: What?
JEN: I was not expecting that.
I really like the honeycomb flooring.
And the subway tile, it's very fresh.
RICARDO: Yeah.
Oh, wow.
JEN: Look at that stand-up shower.
RICARDO: Is that a double vanity I see before me?
JEN: Oh, I love it.
RICARDO: I love it too.
JEN: These lighting fixtures are really interesting.
Oh, and I love that the shower has a window.
RICARDO: Yeah.
JEN: Let's see what we got over here.
RICARDO: Another bedroom.
I'm sure you could get a queen-sized bed in here.
JEN: Yeah.
RICARDO: Fantastic.
I think there's one more room up here.
JEN: One more?
RICARDO: Yeah.
Oh, wow.
JEN: This is bigger than my last apartment.
RICARDO: I am loving this nook area.
JEN: The bay window.
Again, the nature around this lot is just lush and it, it's inspiring.
I also like that they carried the gold accents in this light fixture.
RICARDO: It's nice.
JEN: I think the room keeps going.
RICARDO: Jen.
JEN: What?
RICARDO: You're kidding me.
People are kidding me.
JEN: What?
RICARDO: Two walk-in closets?
His and his, because I'm taking both.
JEN: Ricardo.
RICARDO: It's definitely my dream.
JEN: Oh, my gosh.
What else do we have here?
RICARDO: Are you... JEN: Primary bathroom.
Beautiful soaking tub.
Also this amazing stand-up shower with different tile.
And then look.
RICARDO: Double vanities.
JEN: That is beautiful.
Well, are you ready to lose at the game?
RICARDO: I'm ready to win.
JEN: Okay buddy.
RICARDO: Let's go.
JEN: All right.
Let's go find Lauren.
RICARDO: All right.
LAUREN: Hey guys.
RICARDO: Hi.
JEN: Hi.
LAUREN: Welcome back.
What did you guys think?
RICARDO: Wow.
JEN: Yeah, yeah, I think that sums it up.
It's absolutely stunning how green it is no matter what window you're looking out of and of course, I was obsessed with the kitchen.
RICARDO: Primary suite was chef's kiss.
JEN: And he claimed both upstairs closets so I'll just have to live somewhere else, I suppose.
RICARDO: You have the basement.
JEN: Which also had an amazing guest room with a double closet which is something you don't typically see in a guest room.
LAUREN: Absolutely.
So we have five bedrooms, four and a half baths, 4800 square feet and it's built in 2024.
JEN: I'm going to guess a little conservatively.
Um, I think $980,000.
LAUREN: OK. RICARDO: Okay, I'm going to go a little higher.
I think 1.2 million.
LAUREN: OK, the real list price is 1.545.
RICARDO: Good game, good game.
JEN: Wow.
I was way off.
RICARDO: Oh, come on.
Does that mean I get to move I now?
LAUREN: Yeah, that's right, you're closer.
JEN: Well, Lauren.
Thank you so much.
We've really enjoyed getting to know you and getting to know Burke through your eyes.
LAUREN: I'm excited to show you one more place.
There's this really great restaurant called Spartan's which is, like, the star of Burke right over around the corner is some good Greek food.
RICARDO: What are we waiting for?
JEN: Yeah.
LAUREN: Let's go.
(Jen laughs).
BOB: If you lived in Burke, you'd find that you're well positioned for commuting with the Virginia Railway Express, and you're only about two miles outside the beltway.
ALEX: If you lived here, I think that you would know that there are so many hidden green spaces, lakes, and hiking trails.
That's the best part.
CYNTHIA: If you were and artist like me and lived in Burke, you would love to be near Lake Braddock because it's a beautiful site for painting.
WILL: If you lived in Burke, I would suggest you go and visit Bunnyman Brewery.
It's, uh, new and it's fantastic.
Lots of outdoor seating and, uh, really great place to go and hang out with friends and family.
