Learn more about the 44th annual A Capitol Fourth!- For me, hosting this year's Capitol Fourth is truly an honor.
This is the 43rd year of the show.
Fourth of July is America's birthday, and it just means a lot to me to be able to celebrate at the nation's capital.
This show is America.
It's a celebration of what we are as a country.
I travel all the time along back roads, main roads, highways.
Being able to meet people, you see their heart and you see their personalities.
You see how patriotic we all are when we appreciate the good that is in America.
And it's beautiful.
And I think we all really do love this amazing country.
And the opportunity on the Fourth to celebrate that makes it a very special day for all of us.
You realize how great this country really is.
And to be able to celebrate in the nation's capital with our military, with the incredible performers that we're going to have this year, Babyface, Boyz, II Men, Chicago, and the fireworks-- There's positivity on that lawn.
It says so much about who we are as a country when we do come together and we do support one another.
We absolutely need a show like A Capitol Fourth, and I can't tell you how excited I am to be a part of it.
